Sara Ali Khan And Dhanush To Not Come Together For The Sequel Of Raanjhanaa, Confirms Spokesperson Of Aanand L Rai

It’s confirmed that filmmaker Aanand L Rai is no mood to chalk out a sequel to his 2013 blockbuster film Raanjhanaa. The film launched South star Dhanush in Bollywood opposite Sonam Kapoor. Dhanush also went to win best debut male award at IIFA and Filmfare in 2014

Ever since the debacle of Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma at the box-office, filmmaker Aanand L Rai has maintained a low profile. Meanwhile, when he is in his low phase came news of the filmmaker planning for a sequel to his most loved love story on the silver screen titled Raanjhanaa, the movie which marked South Star Dhanush’s Bollywood debut and gave a fresh pair of Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor to Bollywood was again in talks. The news of the sequel starring Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush was reported on an online portal Peeping.com. 



However, the putting the rumours to rest comes a statement from the spokesperson of the filmmaker and his production banner Colour Yellow Productions, claiming of no such sequel titled Raanjhanaa 2 being in the pipeline. The spokesperson was quoted saying, “There is no truth to the reports of Raanjhanaa 2 being made." The news had created a wave of excitement among the fans with a hope to watch Dhanush back onscreen once again. 


Raanjhanaa released in 2013 narrating a story of a trio basically a love triangle with the central character played by Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor, and Abhay Deol. Songs of this movie were superhit and still enjoy high recall value. Dhanush was awarded in the category of best debut male by FilmFare and International Indian Film Academy Awards in the year 2014. 

Currently, Sonam Kapoor is gearing for the release of her next with Dulquer Salmaan titled The Zoya Factor, whereas Dhanush is all set for the release of his next titled Asuran.
